Abstract

Korban perdagangan manusia di Indonesia, baik anak-anak, perempuan, maupun laki-laki, banyak disebabkan oleh faktor kemiskinan dan rendahya pendidikan sehingga mudah dikelabui oleh lembaga perdagangan manusia. Dalam novel Jatisaba, perdagangan manusia terjadi melalui pencarian TKI secara ilegal. Dengan rayuan bekerja ke luar negeri dan menghasilkan banyak uang, mereka pun berangkat tanpa mengetahui bahwa mereka akan dijual, baik organ tubuh maupun jasa dalam kegiatan kriminal, seperti jual beli narkoba dan prostitusi. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendeskripsikan praktik perdagangan manusia dalam novel Jatisaba karya Ramayda Akmal pada aspek bentuk perdagangan manusia dan pola perdagangan manusia. Dalam novel itu, gambaran faktual tentang perdagangan manusia dinarasikan sangat detail dalam payung fiksi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan sosiologi sastra lalu diinterpretasikan dengan teori perdagangan manusia di Indonesia oleh Syamsuddin dan teori pola perekrutan korban perdagangan manusia oleh Sakroni. Novel Jatisaba karya Ramayda Akmal menjadi sumber data bagi penelitian ini. Tentunya, data berupa paragraf, monolog, kalimat, atau pun dialog yang mengandung gambaran tentang perdagangan manusia. Ada pun metode penelitian ini meliputi pembacaan novel sebagai sumber data, pengumpulan data dengan menandai bagian yang mengandung perdagangan manusia, serta pencatatan dan pengelompokkan data. Terakhir, data yang sudah dikumpulkan dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis flow model oleh Miles dan Huberman untuk menjawab tujuan penelitian. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan, ada dua hal yang berkaitan dengan perdagangan manusia yang terjadi di Desa Jatisaba. Pertama, bentuk-bentuk perdagangan manusia yang digambarkan dalam novel berupa jual beli organ tubuh, prostitusi, perbudakan, dan narkoba. Seluruh bentuk itu dilakukan oleh tokoh Mae. Kedua, Mae merekrut korban dengan kekuatan uang dan janji mendapatkan pekerjaan layak sebagai TKI legal.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed many things, included learning methods in schools. All learning activities switch to an online system. This change raised several teaching obstacles faced by SD/MI teachers in Indonesia. The obstacle faced was the lack of mastery of technology for teachers so that the learning media used was less attractive. Based on a survey conducted, as many as 79.2% of parents stated that teachers mostly provide explanations of material through videos in WhatsApp groups and 45.8% of teachers provide video links from Youtube. Boredom was experienced by students during learning. Therefore, the community service team collaborates with partner schools to organize educational media training activities. In this case, the edugames taught are Quizizz and Baamboozle. This activity was attended by nine teachers from MI Asshibyan Dampaan, Cerme District, Gresik Regency. Activities taken place in a hybrid (offline and online). Quizizz materials were conducted offline at school on the first day, while bamboozle materials were conducted online through Zoom Meetings on the second day. After the presentation of the material by the team, the teacher also practiced compiling his own learning media with team assistance and then applied it in their respective classes. After the training activities, participants were able to arrange practice questions using the Quizizz learning media. The bamboozle media has not been implemented because the class does not take place via Zoom Meeting. The team hopes that this learning media can be applied continuously in online and offline classes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap bagaimana Islamisme magis dihadirkan melalui humor gelap sebagai strategi naratif dalam kumpulan cerpen Memburu Muhammad karya Feby Indirani. Melalui metode kualitatif dengan cara kerja teori semiotika Riffaterre, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa sebagaimana realisme magis, Islamisme magis juga merupakan strategi naratif yang memakai unsur magis sebagai media untuk memberikan kritik terhadap praktik beragama umat Islam di Indonesia. Kritik tersebut merupakan matriks atau generator cerita dalam buku ini yang kemudian diuraikan melalui beberapa model. Hal ini terwujud dalam simbolisme karakterisasi dan perilaku tokoh-tokohnya. Strategi ini dihadirkan untuk membuat kesan ironi atas realitas praktik beragama dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

ABSTRAKSelama masa pandemi Covid-19, pembelajaran jarak jauh memiliki berbagai dampak dan tantangan bagi guru maupun siswa. Guru dituntut untuk dapat beradaptasi dengan cepat dan dapat memanfaatkan berbagai media yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran jarak jauh. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, pelatihan pemanfaatan game edukasi bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kreativitas guru dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran, terutama di masa pandemi Covid-19. Metode yang diaplikasikan dalam pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah pelatihan pemanfaatan game edukasi berupa aplikasi Educandy dan Wordwall yang dapat diakses secara gratis. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah guru-guru dari MI As-Shibyan, Kecamatan Cerme, Gresik. Pelatihan pemanfaatan Wordwall dilakukan secara luring, sedangkan pelatihan pemanfaatan Educandy dilakukan secara daring melalui media Grup WhatsApp dan Youtube. Hasil dari pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah guru-guru dapat mengembangkan kreasi media pembelajaran menggunakan Educandy dan Wordwall dalam memberikan latihan soal kepada siswa untuk meningkatkan minat belajar dan mengurangi kejenuhan siswa, terutama pembelajaran di masa pandemi. Ke depannya, diharapkan para guru juga dapat mengaplikasikan pemanfaatan Educandy dan Wordwall secara berkelanjutan baik secara daring maupun luring di kelas.   ABSTRACTDuring the Covid-19 pandemic, distance learning has various impacts and challenges for both teachers and students. Teachers are required to adapt quickly and be able to take advantage of various media that can use in distance learning. Based on this, training on the use of educational games aims to increase teacher creativity in developing learning media, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. The method applied in this community service is training on educational games in the form of Educandy and Wordwall applications that can access for free. The target of this activity is teachers from MI As-Shibyan, Cerme District, Gresik. Training on the use of Wordwall is carried out offline, while training on Educandy is carried out online through WhatsApp Group and Youtube. This community service results in teachers developing learning media creations using Educandy and Wordwall in providing practice questions to students to increase interest in learning and reduce student boredom, especially learning during a pandemic. In the future, it is hoped that teachers will also be able to apply the sustainable use of Educandy and Wordwall both online and offline in the classroom.

Abstract

Drama is among English teaching and learning activities that can improve students' communication and speaking skills. However, only a few studies documented the integration between local culture and drama for English teaching and learning activities. This study aims at exploring the use of drama wayang in the English for Specific Purposes Speaking activities. A descriptive qualitative study was employed as the study design, with observation, documentation, and questionnaire as methods of data collection. The subjects of this study were first-semester university students from the Indonesian Language and Literature Department. Findings showed that students were enthusiastic about performing drama wayang and could perform it well. Furthermore, drama wayang can be integrated into English teaching and learning activities to improve activity variety and attract students’ interest in learning speaking. This study also implies that drama wayang can be developed into an ESP teaching method combined with Indonesia's local culture and serves as an innovative and contextual ESP teaching method.

Abstract

This study focuses on the representation of ecocriticism in the children's novel entitled “Mata dan Manusia Laut” by Okky Madasari. Ecocriticism is an approach that explains the relationship between literature and environmental issues. The purpose of this study is to reveal how this novel represents the values for preserving the environment, which the children imitate through the behavior of the Bajo tribe in Wakatobi. By using descriptive qualitative methods and ecocriticism approaches, the results of this study are the values of character education in children that are represented through the mythology of the Bajo tribe such as the belief in the God of the Sea and Queen Octopus as the Guardian of the Sea. This is believed as an effort to preserve the sea. In addition, this novel criticizes human behavior that destroys nature, such as fishing using bombs, polluting the sea with a lot of garbage, and killing living things that protect the marine ecosystem. Thus, besides as the representation of the beauty and natural wealth of Wakatobi, this novel is also an effort to instill the values ??in children that Indonesia's marine wealth with all its potential must be kept in balance.

Abstract

Nationalism, national defense education, and eco-awareness are relatable. While nationalism is considered a value instilled in one’s heart, national defense is defined as an attitude of realizing nationalism through activities that share the same objectives - protecting, defending, and growing the nation. One good way to instill the character of nationalism is by utilizing literature, specifically creative children’s literacy, through the digital platform which is inclusively accessible nowadays. It is expected to spread the awareness of nationalism values in children. This study observed the knowledge obtained by children in Taman Baca Masyarakat (Public Library) RW 02 Pradah Kali Kendal, represented in a story writing activity. The value of state defense introduced is limited to three aspects – anticorruption, eco-awareness, and culture-awareness. This study finds that children in Public Library RW 02 Pradah Kali Kendal obtained knowledge about nationalism values and awareness well. The children are also willing to apply a digital platform to spread their values and understanding through children’s literacy. It represents the creative literacy writings written by the children in Public Library RW 02 Pradah Kali Kendal.

Abstract

The project-based learning method is a learning method that is considered to provide more learning experiences than other learning methods, such as discussions and lectures in class. In addition, project-based methods can also provide effective learning outcomes. In learning to write articles, both scientific articles and popular articles, a project-based learning method is needed that can improve students' writing skills. For this reason, in writing scientific articles the "literacy space" method is used, while in writing popular articles the artpop method is used. This research was conducted to compare the effectiveness of the two methods. The research methods used are qualitative and quantitative research. Data collection techniques used were documentation, questionnaires, and student scores. Meanwhile, the data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively, and quantitatively. From the comparative studies that have been carried out, the two methods have significant differences and similarities. However, in terms of effectiveness in learning, the Artpop learning method is considered more effective. The difference in the effectiveness of the two is 2.8%. The artpop learning method is more effective because the learning activities carried out are simple. Students only need to change scientific articles that have been published on Google Scholar into popular articles that can be read by the public in simple language. When writing scientific articles, activities are needed that can increase students' understanding in terms of writing titles, introductions, literature reviews, research methods, results and discussions, citations and bibliography. Meanwhile, in writing popular articles, activities are needed to support students' understanding in terms of writing titles, introductions, contents, and closings. The learning methods used appropriately accommodate the needs of these students.
