<![CDATA[This community service activity aimed to strengthen students’ understanding and skills in preventing hoaxes through digital literacy education at SMKN 3 Seluma Regency. The activity was based on the increasing use of social media and instant messaging applications among students, which makes them vulnerable to the receipt and sharing of unverified information. The program was implemented face-to-face on April 28, 2026, involving 31 students. The methods included school coordination, interactive lectures, discussion, question-and-answer sessions, case analysis, simple fact-checking practice, and descriptive evaluation through observation and reflection. The materials covered the definition of hoaxes, common characteristics of false information, negative impacts of hoax dissemination, information-source assessment, and simple verification steps. The results showed that students responded positively and actively participated in discussions and fact-checking practice. Students began to recognize suspicious signs of hoaxes, such as unclear sources, provocative headlines, a mismatch between headline and content, lack of supporting data, and urgent invitations to share information. They also understood that viral information is not always accurate and should be checked by reviewing the source, date, content, and comparison with reliable references.
