<![CDATA[This study aims to describe the inner conflict of the main character in the novel Layangan Putus by Mommy ASF using Abraham Maslow’s literary psychology approach. The research focuses on the factors causing the inner conflict and the impact of the conflict on the emotional and psychological condition of the main character. This research employed a qualitative approach with a library research method. The primary data source was the novel Layangan Putus by Mommy ASF, while secondary data sources included books, journals, and previous studies related to literary psychology and inner conflict. Data were collected through reading, observing, and note-taking techniques. Data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The results revealed that the main character’s inner conflict was caused by internal and external factors. Internal factors included unmet expectations, mental turmoil, indecisiveness, and unfulfilled emotional needs. External factors included marital problems, changes in the partner’s behavior, loss of security, and social pressures. These conflicts affected the emotional and psychological condition of the main character, manifested through sadness, disappointment, anger, fear, anxiety, happiness, and despair. Based on Abraham Maslow’s literary psychology theory, these conflicts were related to unmet needs for security, love and belongingness, esteem, and self-actualization.]]>
