Abstract

Climate change and the growing demand for clean energy highlight the need to strengthen energy literacy among young people as future agents of sustainable development. This community developmet program aimed to improve students’ understanding of climate change and the role of youth in supporting the clean energy transition through an interactive seminar at Vocational High School. The activity involved 86 vocational high school students and was implemented using a participatory approach, including a needs assessment, seminar, interactive discussion, and evaluation through pre-test and post-test instruments. The results showed a significant improvement in participants’ knowledge of climate change and renewable energy, accompanied by active engagement during the sessions. The program also encouraged students to adopt sustainable energy practices in their schools and communities. These findings demonstrate that participatory educational activities effectively strengthen climate literacy and promote youth involvement in achieving a sustainable energy future.
