The purpose of this writing is to identify and describe various problems that occur in the process of learning science in elementary schools, especially those related to understanding the material, student involvement in learning activities, the use of learning media, and the teaching methods applied by teachers. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method, which involves systematically and objectively describing the conditions of science learning in elementary schools based on direct classroom observations. The instrument used is a learning observation sheet, which serves to observe student activities, teacher teaching methods, the use of learning media, and the conditions of the learning process taking place in the classroom. The study results show that learning science in elementary schools still faces several problems, such as students having difficulty understanding abstract material, limited learning media available, teaching methods that are not very varied and innovative, and a learning process that is still teacher-centered. These conditions affect low student activity, minimal participation in learning activities, and learning outcomes that are often below the Minimum Competency Criteria (KKM). In addition, the use of conventional teaching methods also hinders in-depth concept understanding, so the goals of science learning have not been optimally achieved.
