Water injection is a method used to maintain reservoir pressure and improve hydrocarbon recovery efficiency. One of the common problems encountered in injection wells is formation damage, which can reduce the formation's ability to accept injected fluids. This study aims to evaluate the performance of Injection Well X using the Hall Plot method to identify formation damage and determine an appropriate remedial action.The research methods include Hall Plot analysis based on the relationship between cumulative water injection and cumulative pressure, as well as the calculation of the Injectivity Index (II) as a supporting parameter for evaluating well performance. The data used consist of injection rate, injection pressure, operating time, and well stimulation data from August to December 2017.The results show that the Hall Plot slope increased from 0,001115208 during the August–September period to 0.015021 during October–November, indicating the occurrence of formation damage. The Injectivity Index also decreased from 62.99 BWPD/psi to 16.88 BWPD/psi. To overcome this condition, a matrix acidizing treatment using 10% HCl solution with a volume of 5.05 bbl was conducted. After acidizing, the Hall Plot slope decreased to 0.008741, while the Injectivity Index increased to 33.43 BWPD/psi. These results indicate that matrix acidizing was effective in reducing flow resistance and improving the performance of Injection Well X.
