Abstract

This study examined the use of Wordwall in the theme “My Aspiration to Become a Righteous Child” and its effect on elementary students’ understanding of Islamic adab. A quasi-experimental control-group pretest–posttest design involved 26 sixth-grade students at UPT SD Negeri 152 Sukamaju II, North Luwu Regency. Two intact classes were assigned as an experimental group (n = 13) and a control group (n = 13). Data were collected through 10-item pretests and posttests, a 10-indicator observation sheet, and documentation. Two experts judged the instruments eligible for use. The original individual scores were reanalyzed using descriptive statistics, Shapiro–Wilk and Levene tests, paired-samples t tests, and independent-samples t tests. The experimental mean increased from 49.23 (SD = 13.82) to 80.77 (SD = 13.82), while the control mean increased from 50.00 (SD = 12.25) to 71.54 (SD = 12.81). Both groups improved significantly, but the between-group gain difference was not significant, t(24) = 1.62, p = .118, d = 0.64. Observations indicated more active participation during Wordwall-supported learning. Wordwall therefore shows pedagogical promise and a moderate practical effect, but the evidence does not support a strong causal claim. Larger samples and validated behavioral measures are recommended
