This study investigated the extent to which the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model enhances students’ academic performance on the Excretory System topic among 11th-grade learners at SMA Negeri 1 Motoling Timur. A quasi-experimental approach employing a Non-Equivalent Control Group design was utilized, involving two intact classes designated as the experimental and control groups. All 32 students from the 11th-grade science class were included as participants using a total sampling technique. Quantitative analysis revealed that the implementation of the PBL model significantly improved student learning outcomes. The superiority of the experimental group’s scores over those of the control group demonstrates that PBL is more effective than traditional instructional methods.
