Ethnomathematics is a concept of mathematics that emerges, develops, and is practiced within a particular culture. The relationship between culture and mathematics can be found in various aspects of life, one of which is the traditional cake Tepung Paleng of the Sasak ethnic group. Tepung Paleng is generally made when the Sasak community carries out the activity of pounding rice using a mortar to turn it into flour for various purposes. In the past, Tepung Paleng was commonly consumed as a snack, especially when the remaining rice in the mortar was not sufficient in quantity, so it was processed into food in the form of Tepung Paleng. This cake is made simply by re-pounding the rice mixture with palm sugar until it blends into a unified mixture. This study aims to explore how the physical form of Tepung Paleng can be analyzed through the concepts of plane geometry, solid geometry, and principles of symmetry from an ethnomathematical perspective.
