<![CDATA[The implementation of green campus principles in educational buildings requires natural ventilation and acoustic comfort, a challenge commonly referred to as the Window Dilemma. This study evaluates the physical quality of green classrooms by examining the relationship between ventilation and acoustic comfort within anintegrated analytical framework. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed using primary data collected from 155 Civil Engineering students at Semarang State Polytechnic. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) with Varimax rotation identified two relevant factors, namely Factor I (Indoor Environmental Quality Awareness)and Factor IV (Outdoor Comfort and Pedestrian Environment Awareness), explaining 37.392% and 4.684% of the total variance, respectively. The results reveal a discrepancy between students’ high awareness of green building concepts (76.05%) and their actual perceived classroom comfort. Natural ventilation performance was considered less than optimal by a substantial proportion of respondents (40.1% neutral responses), while external noise was reported to interfere with learning activities by 19.8% of students. These findings confirm that ventilation efficiency and acoustic isolation are mutually dependent via the physical building envelope. The study highlights the critical trade-off between natural airflow and sound attenuation, emphasizing the necessity of an "envelope-first" design approach—incorporating passive shading and vegetation buffers—to achievethermally and acoustically comfortable sustainable learning environments.]]>
