Abstract

Indonesia is a country rich in herbal plants, such as ginger, turmeric and lemongrass. Those three are known to have many health benefits, such as antioxidants, anticancer, and others. Regular consumption of these three herbs can also increase the body's endurance. One practical form of consuming these herbs is by processing them into a powdered herbal drink. It requires a process where not everyone is aware of this, especially in Ngentak, Sumberagung, Jetis, Bantul. Thus, we want to provide education and training on processing these three herbs into a powdered drink. This aims to increase the knowledge and skills of the participants. This activity was attended by 23 participants where the activity consisted of pretest, provision of materials, training, and posttest. The powder is made by applying the principle of crystallization so that ginger, turmeric and lemongrass can be converted into herbal drink in powder form. Based on the results of the pretest and posttest, there was a 40% increase in correct answers by participants, from 53.04% to 93.04%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that this activity can increase the participant’s knowledge and skills regarding the use of ginger, turmeric and lemongrass into herbal powder drinks.
