<![CDATA[This research was motivated by the limited use of learning media in maharah istima' (listening skill) learning at MTs Zaadul Maad Palembang, which caused low student engagement and suboptimal listening competence. This study aims to develop storytelling-based animated video media for maharah istima' learning and to measure its effectiveness in improving students' listening skills. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the Borg and Gall development model, implemented through six stages: needs analysis, data collection, product design, validation, revision, and product testing. Data were collected through interviews, observation, documentation, questionnaires, pre-test, and post-test. The research subjects were 25 students of class VIII at MTs Zaadul Maad Palembang. The findings indicate that: (1) the developed animated video media received a material expert validation score of 88% (very good) and a media expert validation score of 88% (very good); (2) the pre-test average score was 46.53, which improved to 86.11 in the post-test; (3) the paired sample t-test result showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference before and after the use of the media; (4) the N-Gain score was 0.7437 in the high category with an effectiveness percentage of 74.37% (quite effective); and (5) the student satisfaction questionnaire yielded an average score of 90.98% in the very satisfied category. These results demonstrate that storytelling-based animated video media is valid, effective, and suitable for use in Arabic language learning, particularly maharah istima', at the madrasah tsanawiyah level.]]>
