This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using the Role-Playing learning model on students' learning interest in the Economics subject at SMA Negeri 4 Pekanbaru. Learning interest is measured through indicators of enjoyment, attention to learning, interest, curiosity, and active involvement of students in the learning process. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a non-equivalent control group design. The research population is all eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 4 Pekanbaru, with class XI.10 as the experimental class and class XI.8 as the control class, selected using purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through a Likert scale questionnaire administered before (pre-test) and after the treatment (post-test), and supported by observation sheets. Data analysis was conducted using statistical tests with the help of the SPSS program, including prerequisite tests and hypothesis tests using the Independent Sample T-Test. The results of the study indicate that the use of the Role-Playing learning model is effective in increasing students' learning interest. This is shown by a significant difference between the learning interest of students in the experimental class and the control class after the treatment. In addition, the increase in students' learning interest in the experimental class was higher compared to the control class using the conventional learning model. These findings indicate that the application of the Role-Playing model can create a more active, interactive, and enjoyable learning environment, thus enhancing students' learning interest. Therefore, The Role-Playing learning model can be used as an alternative learning strategy that is effective in increasing students' interest in learning, especially in Economics subjects.
