This research examines the influence of the professional competence of Aqidah Akhlak teachers on students’ learning motivation at MI Manggarupi Gowa. The study used a quantitative ex post facto method with a simple paradigm design. The population consisted of 66 fifth-grade students from classes VA and VB. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation, then analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression with SPSS. The results showed that the professional competence of Aqidah Akhlak teachers was in the moderate category (72.73%), while students’ learning motivation was also moderate (78.78%). Hypothesis testing revealed that teachers’ professional competence had a positive and significant influence on students’ learning motivation, with a contribution of 47.6%, while 52.4% was influenced by other factors. In conclusion, the professional competence of Aqidah Akhlak teachers plays an important role in improving students’ learning motivation and supporting better learning outcomes.
