<![CDATA[This study was motivated by the low learning interest of students in Islamic Religious Education subjects, which was indicated by the lack of enthusiasm, participation, and focus during the learning process. This study aimed to improve students’ learning interest through the use of matching card learning media in class V of SDN 1 Ombe Baru in the 2025/2026 academic year. This research used Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles involving 32 students as the research subjects. The research instruments included observation sheets, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed quantitatively using percentages and qualitatively through descriptions of teacher and student activities. The indicators of success were determined when students’ learning interest and learning activities reached ≥80% and showed improvement in each cycle. The results showed a significant improvement. Teacher activities increased from 70.83% in cycle I to 91.66% in cycle II. Student activities also increased from 78.57% to 90.62%. Meanwhile, students’ learning interest increased from 74.14% to 87.06%. Therefore, the use of matching card learning media proved effective in improving students’ learning interest by creating an active, enjoyable, and interactive learning environment. ]]>
