<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the influence of the problem-based learning model onstudents' problem-solving ability in mathematics subjects in addition and subtractionof fractions in grade IV of SDN 040454 Peceren. The background of this research isbased on the low ability of students to solve problems and understand learningmaterials, especially in addition and subtraction materials because the learningprocess is still centered on the teacher. This type of research is a quantitative researchusing the Pre-experiment method with a One-Group Pre- test-Post-test Designresearch design. The research sample consisted of all grade IV students totaling 30students. The technique used is a non-probability sampling technique with a saturatedsampling type because the sample is not selected randomly and this study only usesone class, namely an experimental class that is taught using a problem-based learningmodel. The results showed that the average student pre-test score was 64.3, aftertreatment the average student post-test score increased to 81.3. In addition, theresults of the normality test showed a significance value of > 0.05 in the pre-test andthe results of the Paired Sample T-test showed a sig. value of 0.000 < 0.05 whichmeans that there is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test valuesin the experimental class. Thus, this study concludes that the application of theproblem-based learning model has a positive and significant effect on students'mathematical problem-solving ability in addition and fraction reduction materials]]>
