Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of collaboration skills among children aged 5–6 years at TK Amal Mulia, Barana Village, Jeneponto Regency. Preliminary observations indicated that children tended to work individually, showed limited participation in sharing tasks, and had difficulty communicating and cooperating effectively in group activities. This condition required the implementation of a learning model that could provide direct experiences for children to interact and collaborate with their peers. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Project Based Learning through the “Dream Garden” project on the collaboration dimension of children aged 5–6 years. This research employed a quantitative approach using an experimental method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample consisted of 17 children in Group B at TK Amal Mulia, Barana Village. Data were collected using an observation sheet containing 12 indicators of collaboration skills. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test to examine differences in collaboration skills before and after the treatment. The results showed that children's collaboration skills improved after the implementation of Project Based Learning through the Dream Garden project. Children became more active in sharing ideas, cooperating, helping one another, participating in group activities, and demonstrating responsibility for assigned tasks. The findings indicate that project-based learning provides meaningful learning experiences and effectively enhances collaboration skills in early childhood. In conclusion, Project Based Learning had a positive effect on the collaboration dimension of children aged 5–6 years at TK Amal Mulia, Barana Village, Jeneponto Regency.
