Abstract

The quality of plastic packaging products is a crucial factor in maintaining customer satisfaction. In the production of 190 ml bottles at PT X, one recurring issue is bubble defects, which often lead to customer complaints. To address this problem, process parameter analysis was conducted using Response Surface Methodology (RSM). The variables tested included inject pressure (1700, 1800, 1900 psi) and back pressure (150, 200, 250 psi). Through RSM modeling, the optimum combination was found at an inject pressure of 1918.57 psi and a back pressure of 240.71 psi. This condition resulted in bubble defects of 4.744 pieces in 190 ml bottles. These findings highlight that proper adjustment of process parameters can significantly reduce defects and improve product quality.
