<![CDATA[The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is an effect of animated video media on the ability to comprehend the content of Indonesian language stories among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 05 Palembang. This study was motivated by the low level of students’ ability to comprehend story content. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with a control group design, consisting of two groups: a control class and an experimental class. The research sample consisted of all fourth-grade students, namely IVA and IVB. The average posttest score for the experimental class was 78.41, while that of the control class was only 68.72; therefore, it can be concluded that there was an improvement in listening comprehension scores through the use of animated video media. The results of the independent samples t-test showed a significant value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted; thus, there is a significant difference between the control and experimental groups. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of animated video media influences the ability to comprehend story content.]]>
