<![CDATA[Curriculum is the spirit in organizing the learning process in educational units, so it is only natural that improvements and transformations continue to occur in a curriculum. Currently, the independent curriculum was coined as part of the solution to improve teaching and learning in Indonesia. This independent curriculum is closely related to the concept of independent learning which provides flexibility in learning for students. This article aims to discuss the concept of an independent curriculum, especially at the PAUD level. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with literature studies used to collect data. The research findings show that the concept of an independent curriculum allows students to become centers of learning that have the opportunity to explore the environment around them with the guidance of an educator. Project-based learning is a learning model that can support the concept of "free learning" for students. The Pancasila student profile is also an innovation in the independent curriculum, covering 6 dimensions. Assessment and learning outcomes in the independent curriculum refer to the reference standards of the National Education Standards which are then referred to as learning outcomes, including religious and character values, self identity or identity, as well as the basics of literacy and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics).]]>
