This study was motivated by the low poetry writing skills of fourth-grade students at UPTD SD Negeri 27 Peusangan, particularly in developing ideas, selecting appropriate diction, using figurative language, and composing coherent poems. The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement in students’ poetry writing skills, teacher and student activities, and students’ responses to the implementation of the Creative Writing learning model assisted by audiovisual media. This study employed a qualitative approach using Classroom Action Research (CAR), which was conducted in two cycles. The research subjects consisted of 13 fourth-grade students at UPTD SD Negeri 27 Peusangan. Data were collected through tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using learning mastery percentage analysis, observations of teacher and student activities, and descriptive analysis of interview results. The findings revealed that the implementation of the Creative Writing learning model assisted by audiovisual media improved students’ poetry writing skills. The percentage of students achieving learning mastery increased from 38.46% in Cycle I to 84.61% in Cycle II. Teacher activity improved from 66.66% in Cycle I to 89.33% in Cycle II, while student activity increased from 69.23% to 93.58%. Interview results indicated that students responded positively to the learning process because audiovisual media helped them generate ideas, determine themes, choose appropriate diction, and enhance their interest, motivation, and self-confidence in writing and reciting poetry. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Creative Writing learning model assisted by audiovisual media can improve the poetry writing skills of fourth-grade students at UPTD SD Negeri 27 Peusangan.
