Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Problem-Based Learning assisted by Virtual Reality (VR) media on the digital literacy of elementary school students. The study employed a descriptive quantitative approach, with data collected through a digital literacy questionnaire. The research subjects consisted of 24 fourth-grade elementary school students who participated in Problem-Based Learning activities using VR media in Chapter 8 of Science and Social Studies (IPAS) concerning norms and rules. The data were analyzed using percentage and mean score techniques. The results showed that the implementation of Problem-Based Learning assisted by VR media had a positive effect on students’ digital literacy. The percentage scores for each digital literacy indicator were: finds 87.5%, use multiple sources 86%, selects 86.5%, evaluates 54%, considers source 70%, message effect 68.7%, and uses to produce original work 89%, all of which were categorized as high. These findings indicate that the use of the Problem-Based Learning model supported by VR media is able to improve students’ abilities to understand, use, evaluate, and utilize digital technology effectively in the learning process. Therefore, Problem-Based Learning assisted by VR media can serve as an innovative alternative to enhance digital literacy among elementary school students.
