The primary challenges faced by students with intellectual disabilities in the Grade XII vocational class at SLB Negeri 1 Makassar included difficulty following sequential work steps, a lack of essential life skills, and an inability to complete craft products independently. The objectives of this study were to: (1) assess the baseline keychain-making skills of students with intellectual disabilities at SLB Negeri 1 Makassar prior to the implementation of the prompting and fading method; (2) describe the process of implementing the prompting and fading method for teaching keychain-making skills to these students; and (3) describe the students' keychain-making skills following the implementation of the method. A descriptive quantitative method was employed to illustrate the students' baseline abilities and the subsequent improvement in their skills following the intervention. Data were collected through observation and testing, then analyzed quantitatively and presented in tables and diagrams. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in keychain-making skills. The prompting and fading method proved effective in enhancing the vocational skills and independence of students with intellectual disabilities.
