<![CDATA[This study aims to develop a puzzle-based learning media integrated with local culture to address reading difficulties among Phase A students at SDN 100 Singgasari, Luwu Regency. Early reading skills are fundamental competencies in elementary education; however, many students still experience difficulties in recognizing letters, combining syllables, and understanding simple words. These challenges are influenced by low reading motivation, limited use of attractive instructional media, and a lack of contextual learning approaches in classroom instruction. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects of this study were 28 second-grade students and their teacher at SDN 100 Singgasari, Luwu Regency. Data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, observations, and learning outcome tests. The data were analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative techniques to assess the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the developed media. The results of the study indicate that the developed puzzle media is categorized as valid based on expert judgment, practical for use by teachers and students, and effective in improving students’ early reading skills. The integration of local cultural elements, such as traditional houses, local foods, and regional cultural symbols, successfully increased students’ motivation and engagement in learning. Therefore, the puzzle-based learning media integrated with local culture is considered an appropriate and innovative alternative for enhancing early literacy learning in elementary schools.]]>
