Beginning reading ability is a fundamental literacy skill that must be mastered by elementary school students, especially in lower grades. However, many students still experience difficulties due to the limited use of interactive learning media in the classroom. This study aimed to determine the effect of Canva-assisted digital learning media on the beginning reading ability of second-grade students at SD Negeri Centre Mangalli, Gowa Regency. The study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of 30 second-grade students selected using saturated sampling. Data were collected through reading tests, observation, and documentation. Data analysis included descriptive statistics and inferential statistics using the Independent Sample t-test with SPSS. The results showed that students' average score increased from 78.33 on the pretest to 87.33 on the posttest. Hypothesis testing produced a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant effect of Canva-assisted digital learning media on students' beginning reading ability. Therefore, Canva can serve as an effective and innovative digital learning medium to improve beginning reading skills in elementary schools
