<![CDATA[This study was motivated by the low poetry writing skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 4 Bukittinggi. The research objectives were to: (1) describe the poetry writing skill level of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 4 Bukittinggi without using the project-based learning model assisted by animated video media; (2) describe the poetry writing skill level of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 4 Bukittinggi using the project-based learning model assisted by animated video media; and (3) describe the effect of using the project-based learning model assisted by animated video media on the poetry writing skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 4 Bukittinggi. This study employed a quantitative research approach, as the data processed were numerical—specifically, scores and grades representing the poetry writing skills of the students. An experimental method—specifically a true experimental design—was used. The research results showed that: (1) the poetry writing skill test score using the project-based learning model assisted by animated video media was 83.72, falling into the "Good" (B) category; (2) the poetry writing skill test score without using the project-based learning model assisted by animated video media was 75.76, also falling into the "Good" (B) category; and (3) there was an effect of using the project-based learning model assisted by animated video media on the poetry writing skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 4 Bukittinggi.]]>
