ANALISIS UNSUR HARA KOMPOS BERBAHAN DASAR KOTORAN SAPI DAN KAMBING DENGAN SAYUR-SAYURAN SEBAGAI STARTER ALAMI

Abstract

Abstract: The increasing amount of organic waste and livestock manure has become an environmental problem requiring proper management. This study aimed to analyze the nutrient content of compost made from cow manure and goat manure using vegetable waste as a natural starter and to evaluate its conformity with Indonesian National Standard SNI 19-7030-2004. The study used an experimental method consisting of three treatments: cow manure compost, goat manure compost, and mixed manure compost. Parameters analyzed included temperature, pH, moisture content, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and organic carbon. The results showed that all samples met the standard requirements for N, P, and K contents. The highest nitrogen content was found in goat manure compost at 3.22%. The highest phosphorus content was 21.81%, while potassium reached 14.56%. Organic carbon ranged from 42.64% to 44.16%. Moisture content remained above the SNI standard. Goat manure compost exhibited better nutrient quality than cow manure compost. Keyword: compost, cow manure, goat manure, vegetable waste, nutrient content. Abstrak: Peningkatan jumlah sampah organik dan limbah peternakan menjadi salah satu permasalahan lingkungan yang memerlukan pengelolaan yang tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kandungan unsur hara kompos berbahan dasar kotoran sapi dan kotoran kambing dengan sampah sayuran sebagai starter alami serta mengevaluasi kesesuaiannya terhadap SNI 19-7030-2004. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan tiga perlakuan yaitu kompos kotoran sapi, kompos kotoran kambing, dan campuran kotoran sapi dan kambing. Parameter yang dianalisis meliputi suhu, pH, kadar air, nitrogen, fosfor, kalium, dan karbon organik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh sampel memenuhi standar unsur hara N, P, dan K. Kandungan nitrogen tertinggi terdapat pada kompos kotoran kambing sebesar 3,22%. Kandungan fosfor tertinggi sebesar 21,81%, sedangkan kandungan kalium tertinggi sebesar 14,56%. Kandungan C-organik berkisar antara 42,64%–44,16%. Kadar air kompos masih berada di atas standar SNI. Kompos berbahan dasar kotoran kambing menunjukkan kualitas unsur hara yang lebih baik dibandingkan kompos kotoran sapi. Kata kunci: kompos, kotoran sapi, kotoran kambing, sampah sayuran, unsur hara.
