Spatial inequality in Banten Province demonstrates a stark contrast in development between the advanced northern region and the underdeveloped southern region. This article aims to conceptually examine how the issue of spatial inequality can be integrated into contextual-based Social Studies (IPS) learning to strengthen students’ social and geospatial literacy. This study employs a literature review approach using academic sources, data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), and regional development reports. The findings show that the areas of Greater Tangerang, Serang, and Cilegon have experienced rapid progress due to their proximity to Jakarta, industrial concentration, and adequate infrastructure. Meanwhile, Lebak and Pandeglang continue to face development challenges due to limited accessibility and human resources. Social Studies learning that incorporates local issues has proven effective in enhancing students’ critical thinking, social empathy, and spatial awareness. Therefore, integrating the issue of spatial inequality into Social Studies education can strengthen its relevance in shaping a generation that is aware of social justice and committed to sustainable development.
