<![CDATA[This research aims to determine the symbolic meaning of the Popene'e traditional procession. This research method uses qualitative descriptive, with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is based on John Fiske's theoretical analysis. There are three levels of code to analyze the stages of the Popene traditional procession. First, the reality level shows the bride and groom in terms of clothing, appearance, expression, gestures, and daily life environment. Second, the representation level highlights the use of various tools and materials used at each stage of the Popene traditional procession as elements that have symbols. Third, the ideology level is formed from the habits of the Lauje people's perspective based on hereditary beliefs]]>
