<![CDATA[Abstrak Perkembangan teknologi informasi dan media sosial memberikan berbagai manfaat dalam komunikasi dan akses informasi, tetapi di sisi lain juga menimbulkan risiko bagi anak berupa paparan konten negatif, kekerasan, pornografi, dan penyalahgunaan layanan digital. Kondisi tersebut menunjukkan pentingnya pengaturan pembatasan usia sebagai bentuk perlindungan hukum bagi anak di media sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaturan pembatasan usia pengguna layanan digital dalam Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 17 Tahun 2025, kelemahan regulasinya, serta urgensi sistem pengawasan platform digital dalam perlindungan anak. Penelitian menggunakan metode yuridis normatif dengan pendekatan perundang-undangan dan konseptual melalui studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaturan pembatasan usia dalam PP Nomor 17 Tahun 2025 masih bersifat administratif karena belum mengatur mekanisme verifikasi usia dan kewajiban pengawasan platform digital secara jelas. Untuk itu perlindungan anak di media sosial memerlukan penguatan regulasi melalui verifikasi usia, pembatasan akses, dan pengawasan platform digital agar perlindungan hukum dapat berjalan lebih efektif.Kata Kunci: media sosial; pembatasan usia; perlindungan anak; platform digital; verifikasi usia Abstract The development of information technology and social media offers various benefits in communication and access to information, but on the other hand, it also poses risks for children in the form of exposure to negative content, violence, pornography, and misuse of digital services. This situation highlights the importance of regulating age restrictions as a form of legal protection for children on social media. This study aims to analyze the regulation of age restrictions for digital service users in Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025, its regulatory weaknesses, and the urgency of a digital platform monitoring system for child protection. The study uses a normative juridical method with a legislative and conceptual approach through literature review. The results indicate that the regulation of age restrictions in Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 remains administrative in nature because it does not clearly stipulate age verification mechanisms and digital platform monitoring obligations. Therefore, child protection on social media requires strengthened regulations through age verification, access restrictions, and digital platform monitoring to ensure more effective legal protection.Keywords: social media; age restrictions; child protection; digital platforms; age verification]]>
