<![CDATA[This research was motivated by a lack of diverse learning methods and the limited use of media that suit the active, playful nature of first-grade students, which makes learning less enjoyable, especially in addition and subtraction. Also, no games have yet been developed to introduce culture to students. Therefore, there is a need to develop valid, practical modified media based on the traditional game engklek to teach addition and subtraction to first-grade elementary school students. This study used the 4D R&D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The data were collected through interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The analysis of the data involved expert validation and student responses. Based on the analysis, the material expert’s percentage is 92.5% in the “very valid” category. The result of the expert assessment is 85.8% and falls into the “very valid” category. The results of practicality, with small-group trials, are 100% in the "very practical" category, and with large-group trials, 98.5% in the "very practical" category. Therefore, it can be concluded that the modified media for the hopscotch game on addition and subtraction material for grade I elementary school students is very valid and very practical to use.]]>
