<![CDATA[This study aims to examine supervisors’ communication patterns in reducing students’ deviant behavior and the communication barriers encountered during the guidance process at Pesantren Guppi Samata, Gowa Regency. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with supervisors and students selected purposively as research subjects, and data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that supervisors apply interpersonal and circular communication patterns that are direct, persuasive, and based on empathy and role modeling, which help build emotional closeness and trust in students when receiving guidance. Communication barriers include students’ unstable psychological conditions, differences in character, influences from previous environments, family background, and dense activity schedules within the pesantren. This study is expected to contribute as a reference for pesantren supervisors in implementing effective communication patterns to support guidance and reduce students’ deviant behavior.
