Damage to the road pavement, such as cracking, deformation, and pothole formation, remains common due to increasing traffic loads and environmental influences. One option for enhancing performance of asphalt mixtures is to utilize waste wood charcoal powder as an additive in combinations of Asphalt Concrete-Wearing Course (AC-WC). The objective of this research intended to investigate the effects of employing of wood charcoal powder on the AC-WC mixes' Marshall characteristics and to ascertain the ideal content that meets the specifications of the 2018 Bina Marga Specifications. This research employed a laboratory experimental method by incorporating wood charcoal powder at varying contents of 0%, 2%, 4%, and 6% of the weight of the filler. Features of a combination were evaluated using the Marshall test, with parameters including Void in Mix (VIM), stability, flow, and Marshall Quotient (MQ). The findings demonstrated that the inclusion of wood charcoal powder affected the attributes of the AC-WC mixture. The best performance was obtained at a wood charcoal powder content of 2%, with a stability score of 1,358.5 kg, VIM of 4.16%, flow of 3.64 mm, and Marshall Quotient (MQ) of 382.74 kg/mm. This variation was the only mixture that satisfied all the prerequisites listed the Bina Marga Specifications for 2018 Therefore, a wood charcoal powder content of 2% can be recommended as the ideal content for AC-WC mixtures.
