<![CDATA[This study aimed to develop a local wisdom-based teaching module for Indonesian language learning and determine its validity, practicality, and effectiveness in strengthening fifth-grade elementary students’ reading literacy. The study employed a research and development design using the ADDIE model, comprising analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research was conducted at SDN 1 Lenek Daya with 40 fifth-grade students, consisting of 20 students in an experimental class and 20 students in a control class. Data were collected through needs analysis, observation, structured interviews, expert validation, teacher and student response questionnaires, documentation, and reading-literacy pretests and posttests. Quantitative data were analyzed descriptively, using N-Gain, Shapiro–Wilk normality testing, Levene’s test, and an independent-samples t-test. The module obtained expert validation scores of 43 for content, 39 for language, and 40 for media, indicating good to very good feasibility. Teacher responses reached 63, while student responses reached 83%, indicating good practicality and a very positive response. The experimental group improved from a mean pretest score of 48.8 to 86.0 on the posttest, with an N-Gain of 0.70 and a gain percentage of 74.5%, whereas the control group obtained an N-Gain of 0.40. The independent-samples t-test showed a significant difference between groups (t = 8.625, df = 38, p < .001). The findings indicate that contextualized local wisdom can function not only as cultural content but also as a pedagogical bridge for meaningful reading comprehension instruction.]]>
