This study aims to analyze the local agribusiness-based business model of native chicken farming as a strategy to increase farmers’ income in Medan City. Although native chicken has strong market potential due to increasing demand for local and traditional food products, farmers still face challenges related to high feed costs, limited market access, dependence on collectors, and weak business management. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method using the Business Model Canvas approach, supported by quantitative analysis of production costs, revenue, and income from 30 informants consisting of farmers, collectors, and culinary business actors. The results indicate that native chicken farming provides positive income potential; however, profitability is strongly influenced by feed costs and marketing efficiency. Feed represented the largest production cost component, while marketing activities were still dominated by conventional channels. Strengthening feed management, developing direct marketing channels, establishing partnerships with culinary businesses, and utilizing digital marketing are potential strategies to improve the competitiveness and income of native chicken farmers in Medan City. This study contributes to the development of small-scale agribusiness management through the integration of Business Model Canvas analysis and farm income evaluation.
