Abstract

The stunting rate in West Java in the last three years shows a significant increase. Data from the West Java Health Office in 2022 shows the stunting prevalence in West Java is 20.2% with a decrease of 4.3% compared to 2021. This prevalence is below the national figure of 21.6%. The Bogor City Government has set a target of stunting prevalence reaching 9.9% by 2024. Bogor City also experienced an increase in the number of stunted toddlers in 2020, respectively, as many as 5948 and 3950 toddlers experienced stunting with a prevalence of stunted toddlers reaching 18.7% in 2022. The purpose of providing education is to increase the knowledge of mothers who have toddlers and preschool-aged children to prevent stunting through nutritious food. The method used is counseling by providing pre-and post-test questionnaires. Health education method to mothers who have toddlers and preschool-aged children. The results of the pre- and post-test can be seen in the pre-test data, most respondents had poor knowledge (47.6%) and a few had good knowledge (52.4%). After the material was provided, the post-test results showed that the majority of mothers with toddlers and preschool-aged children had good knowledge (95.2%) and the fewest had poor knowledge (4.8%). It can be concluded that there was an increase in the knowledge of mothers with toddlers and preschool-aged children before and after the material was provided.
