This study was conducted at the Radiology Department of Dr. Zainoel Abidin Regional General Hospital (RSUD) from November 2023 to February 2024. It employed a descriptive-qualitative research method with a case study approach, aiming to provide an accurate picture of the situation in the field based on literature review, observation, and documentation. Loopography examinations for colostomy patients with anal atresia at the facility involved plain film imaging, anteroposterior (AP) projections with the patient in a supine position, AP projections during contrast media administration, and lateral projections. The procedure utilized a 1:1 water-soluble contrast medium mixture (5 cc of contrast medium diluted with 5 cc of Ringer's Lactate solution). The findings indicated a patent proximal loop extending from the descending colon to the ileocecal junction; the sigmoid section appeared larger than the rectum; and high-type anal atresia was present, with smooth contrast passage. Thus, the loopography results confirmed the presence of atresia.
