<![CDATA[This study analyzes the representation and construction of leftist ideology in the book “Ayat-Ayat Kiri” (2019), a non-narrative text consisting of quotations from leftist thinkers. Using a sociological approach to literature and a qualitative descriptive method based on content analysis, this study examines five quotations purposively selected from the book’s 119 pages based on their relevance to the theme of leftist ideology. Data were collected through intensive reading, documentation, and coding, then analyzed through reduction, categorization, interpretation, and drawing conclusions using a theoretical framework comprising Marxist perspectives, Gramsci’s concept of hegemony, and Althusser’s ideological apparatus. The research findings identify three main themes - critique of capitalism, class consciousness, and resistance to the domination of power—that form a hierarchical ideological pattern such as “critique–consciousness - resistance.” The construction of ideology in the text occurs through three discursive strategies: the selection of quotations, the repetition of themes, and persuasive framing. This study concludes that non-narrative texts not only represent ideology but also construct it through the organization of ideas and textual strategies, thereby expanding the scope of literary sociology, which has traditionally been dominated by narrative texts. These findings affirm that even fragmentary text forms can serve as a medium for the articulation and reproduction of ideological discourse.]]>
