<![CDATA[This research examined the level of legal awareness among adolescents in Klaten Regency in relation to the increasing incidence of youth violence. It also evaluated the role of legal awareness education in reducing adolescent violence and identified factors affecting its effectiveness. The research employed a socio-legal approach that integrated normative analysis (law in books) and empirical analysis (law in action). The data consisted of primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials, supported by interviews, observations, and document studies. The informants included law enforcement officers, education officials, teachers, community leaders, parents, and adolescents in Klaten Regency. The data were analyzed qualitatively through legal interpretation and socio-legal analysis by examining the gap between legal norms (das Sollen) and social reality (das Sein). The findings revealed that adolescents’ legal awareness remained at a low to moderate level. Although their legal knowledge was relatively adequate, their legal attitudes and behaviors remained weak. A significant gap existed between child protection regulations and legal provisions prohibiting violence (das Sollen) and the continued occurrence of random street violence committed by youth groups (das Sein). Legal awareness education was found to play an important role in reducing this gap by strengthening adolescents’ legal understanding, attitudes, and compliance with the law. However, its effectiveness was limited by fragmented curriculum implementation, weak coordination between educational institutions and law enforcement agencies, and the limited internalization of legal values within families and communities. Therefore, strengthening collaborative legal education is essential for fostering sustainable violence prevention among adolescents.]]>
