<![CDATA[Homesickness is a common psychological challenge among students who leave their home regions to pursue higher education. Separation from family, unfamiliar social environments, and adaptation demands may evoke loneliness, emotional distress, and persistent longing for home. This study aimed to explore how migrant students experience and make meaning of video calls as a way of coping with homesickness. A qualitative phenomenological design was used to obtain an in-depth understanding of participants' lived experiences. Four migrant students studying in Bekasi participated in the study; in the results section, they were reported as two primary participants and two supporting participants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observation and analyzed using thematic analysis. Three themes emerged: difficulties in social adaptation, emotional coping, and relationship patterns. Video calls were experienced as a medium for maintaining emotional closeness with family, obtaining emotional support, reducing loneliness, and regulating emotions during adaptation to the new environment. Family remained a salient source of emotional security, while video calls enabled participants to sustain meaningful connections despite geographical separation. These findings suggest that synchronous digital communication can function as a contextual psychosocial resource for migrant students and may inform higher education initiatives that support students' psychological well-being.]]>
