The development of the Islamic banking industry in Indonesia has not been fully accompanied by an increasing level of public awareness of avoiding riba (usury). This study aims to examine the influence of Islamic financial literacy and the image of Islamic banks on students' awareness of avoiding riba among students of the Islamic Banking Study Program at Institut Al Fithrah Surabaya. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The study involved 77 students selected through a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through multiple linear regression analysis. The findings indicate that Islamic financial literacy and the image of Islamic banks have a positive and significant effect on students' awareness of avoiding riba, both partially and simultaneously. These two variables explain a substantial proportion of the variation in students' awareness of avoiding riba, suggesting that improving Islamic financial literacy and strengthening the image of Islamic banks contribute to fostering financial behavior that is consistent with the principles of Islamic economics. The findings are expected to provide valuable insights for higher education institutions and the Islamic banking industry in enhancing the effectiveness of Islamic financial education for the younger generation.
