<![CDATA[Physical education is an essential element in the holistic development of human beings; however, studies specifically identifying the concept of physical education based on the hadiths in Riyadhus Shalihin and its relevance to character formation within the physical development dimension remain limited. This study aims to analyze the concept of physical education in the hadiths contained in Imam al-Nawawi’s Riyadhus Shalihin and its relevance to character formation within the physical development dimension. The study employed a qualitative library research approach with a descriptive-analytical design. The primary data source was Riyadhus Shalihin, while the secondary data sources included books, scholarly articles, and other relevant literature. Data were collected through documentation and analyzed descriptively and interpretively using content analysis. The findings indicate that the concept of physical education from the perspective of hadith encompasses the development of physical strength, physical preparedness, earnestness, the maintenance of health and cleanliness, and the fulfillment of the body’s rights. These concepts are relevant to character formation within the physical development dimension, which encompasses health and fitness, physical endurance, discipline, responsibility for one’s body, hard work, active lifestyle habits, sportsmanship, and cooperation. This study concludes that the hadiths in Riyadhus Shalihin provide a normative foundation for developing physical education oriented toward both physical health and character formation. These findings contribute to expanding the study of Islamic Religious Education by integrating hadith values, physical education, and character education, while also providing a conceptual foundation for developing a hadith-based physical education learning model. Future research should examine the implementation of this model through field studies.]]>
