Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine how Project-Based Learning (PjBL) can enhance creativity in elementary school students using learning stages and creativity markers. Fifty publications published between 2016 and 2026 were examined using a Systematic Literature Review approach. The PjBL stages planning, investigation, product design, and reflection were used to map the analysis, which was conducted using Torrance's creativity indicators fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The findings indicate that the development of creativity indices is influenced differently by each PjBL stage. The planning, investigation, product design, and reflection stages are where fluency, adaptability, and uniqueness develop the most. Furthermore, a progressive growth pattern was found based on grade level, with reflective and deep thinking skills developing in upper grades and divergent thinking skills developing in lower and middle grades. These results suggest that PjBL not only enhances creativity as an end result, but also gradually and systematically shapes the creative thinking process.
