Abstract

The low writing skills among students with special needs who have cognitive impairments pose a challenge in learning at special education schools. These students often experience difficulties in recognizing letters, copying text, and maintaining concentration during writing activities. Therefore, appropriate learning media that align with their characteristics and needs are essential. This community service activity aims to test the effectiveness of educational media, specifically color recognition materials and Student Worksheets (LKPD), in improving the writing skills of first-grade students at SDLB Negeri Badean Bondowoso. The method employed involves instructional support using a pre-test and post-test design for five students. Results indicate that the average writing skills improved from 45% in the pre-test to 85% in the post-test, representing a relative increase of 88.89%. Furthermore, the use of these media also enhanced students' motivation, concentration, participation, and self-confidence.
