The Bank Indonesia Library in Surabaya plays an important role in supporting access to information and education for the people of Surabaya. However, interior design is currently less supportive in doing effectiveness due to less attractive interiors and limited facilities and technology. This design aims to create an alternative to the interior design of Bank Indonesia libraries that are able to increase functional value, and support reading activities. This design makes an alternative interior design of the Bank Indonesia Library, for the creation of an ergonomic, safe and comfortable space that can increase visits to the library and increase the reading interest of the people of Surabaya. In addition, the Bank Indonesia Library applies a modern mid-century style which is expected to provide a new atmosphere, and is combined with clover motifs as the local cultural identity of the city of Surabaya. The results of this design can produce an alternative library interior design that can combine functional aspects with the preservation of historical and cultural values. With this alternative design, it is hoped that the Bank Indonesia Library in Surabaya can become a more comfortable, safe, and aesthetically attractive facility that is displayed and can meet the needs of visitors while preserving cultural heritage.
