<![CDATA[Hypertension is a major non-communicable disease and a significant public health concern because it increases the risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke, and kidney failure. Central obesity, characterized by excessive abdominal fat accumulation, is one of the modifiable risk factors associated with elevated blood pressure. This study aimed to determine the relationship between central obesity and the incidence of hypertension among adult women. An analytical observational study with a cross-sectional design was conducted among 70 adult women selected using purposive sampling. Central obesity was assessed by measuring waist circumference, while hypertension was determined through blood pressure measurements. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test. The results showed a significant relationship between central obesity and the incidence of hypertension (p = 0.001). Women with central obesity had a 2.06-fold higher prevalence of hypertension than those without central obesity (PR = 2,06). In conclusion, central obesity is significantly associated with the incidence of hypertension among adult women, highlighting the importance of preventing and controlling central obesity as part of hypertension prevention strategies.]]>
