Cyberbullying is one of the digital communication problems that is increasingly prevalent on social media and has a negative impact on mental health, confidence, and social life of students. This study aims to analyze visual communication strategies in building student awareness of the dangers of cyberbullying, understand the meaning of anti-cyberbullying visual messages by students and lecturers, and identify the most effective visual elements in delivering educational messages. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method at the Visual Communication Design Study Program, Universitas Awal Bros Pekanbaru. The informants consist of lecturers and students who are selected purposively. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature studies. The analysis was carried out with the Miles, Huberman, and SaldaƱa models through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn, while the validity of the data was tested by triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of the study show that most students understand the concept of cyberbullying, but there is still a tendency to consider some forms of digital bullying as a joke. Visual communication has been proven to increase awareness because the message is easier to understand, attract attention, and build empathy. The most effective visual elements include visual storytelling, short videos, illustrations, contrasting colors, clear typography, and relevant case studies. The research concludes that visual communication strategies that are creative, communicative, and according to student characteristics can increase awareness of cyberbullying and support a healthy digital communication culture in universities.
