<![CDATA[Background: Facial serums are advanced cosmetic formulations designed to deliver high concentrations of active ingredients, allowing for intensive penetration into deeper layers of the skin. Naringenin at a concentration of 2.5% can inhibit Staphylococcus aureus bacteria with an inhibition zone of 15.10 mm, indicating strong antibacterial activity. S. aureus is one of the bacteria responsible for causing acne. Purpose: This study aims to develop a facial serum containing the active ingredient naringenin, which is expected not only to meet physical quality standards and be safe for the skin but also to effectively treat acne due to the antibacterial properties of 2.5% naringenin. Method: The method used was a laboratory experiment in which a naringenin (NAR) serum preparation was made, followed by an evaluation of its physical properties, including a homogeneity test, a pH test, a spreadability test, an adhesion test, a viscosity test, and an antibacterial test. Results: The results showed that, in the organoleptic test, the preparation was a blue, odorless semisolid. The NAR serum had a homogeneous texture with a pH of 5.7; a spreadability of 6.8 cm; an adhesion time of 7.8 seconds; a viscosity of 3,707 Cps; and an inhibition zone diameter of 14.3 mm, classified as strong. Conclusion: The NAR serum preparation exhibits good physical quality in accordance with standards and may possess strong antioxidant activity.
