Purpose –This study aims to analyze the practice of Netflix account sharing through third parties from the perspective of Quranic Surah Al-Ma’idah verse 1 regarding the principle of contract fulfillment. Methodology – This is a literature review employing a qualitative approach and descriptive-analytical methods. Data sources were obtained from Quranic Surah Al-Ma’idah verse 1 along with its exegesis and Netflix’s Terms of Use. Findings – The results indicate that the use of Netflix services fulfills the basic elements of a valid digital contract according to Islamic law. Research implications/novelty – However, the commercialization of accounts and the transfer of accounts to third parties outside the terms of use are deemed contrary to the principle of aufū bil-‘uqūd, as they do not align with the initial agreement between the user and Netflix. Originality/value – The practice of sharing Netflix accounts through third parties is becoming increasingly widespread because it offers lower subscription costs. This phenomenon raises issues regarding the fulfillment of contracts in digital transactions.
