This study aims to analyze the concept of morality (akhl?q) in the thought of Ibn Miskawayh, examine the crisis of values and ethical problems in social media use in the contemporary era through an axiological approach, and analyze the implications of Ibn Miskawayh’s concept of akhl?q for the formation of contemporary social media ethics. This research employs a qualitative method with a library research design, enriched by documentary analysis of social media phenomena, particularly Instagram. The approach used is a philosophical-axiological approach, with data analysis techniques consisting of content analysis and philosophical analysis through the stages of interpretation, coherence, critical reflection, and synthesis of Ibn Miskawayh’s concept of akhl?q and the phenomena of digital ethics. The findings show that Ibn Miskawayh’s concept of akhl?q centers on the cultivation of the soul through the balance of three faculties: the rational faculty (al-nafs al-n??iqah), the emotional faculty (al-nafs al-sabu‘iyyah), and the appetitive faculty (al-nafs al-bah?miyyah). This balance gives rise to four principal virtues: ?ikmah (wisdom), shaj?‘ah (courage), ‘iffah (temperance), and ‘ad?lah (justice), which constitute the path toward happiness (al-sa‘?dah). From an axiological perspective, the ethical crisis in social media is rooted in a shift in value orientation, characterized by the dominance of popularity, emotion, and desire over the values of wisdom, responsibility, and the common good. This study finds that the concept of the mean (al-wasa?) and the balance of the soul in Ibn Miskawayh’s thought are relevant as a paradigm for reconstructing social media ethics.
